BioJohnny 5 was created by Dr. Newton Crosby, PhD for Nova Robotics, 5th in a group of 5 robots created for the military.
In 1986, lightning struck the generator while Number 5 was recharging, and somehow caused him to be come sentient. Alive. Confused, he escaped from Nova and met Stephanie Speck, who helped him realize what had happened. Together they convinced Dr. Crosby as well, and after tricking Nova into thinking they'd destroyed him, Number 5, who now goes by Johnny 5, Stephanie and Newton moved to a 40 acre farm in Montana.
